An Update from Alasdair

Hello avid readers.

What reader you may ask? Well, somebody must be reading. And I don’t see how Ali, Louisa, Lucy and Colm have contributed to nearly 10k hits. And I know I certainly don’t waste my time reading my own blog. Hell, I usually fail to write posts in the first place.

Anyway, now that I’ve finished wittering away, hit “more” for some news on some gigs and other stuff.

Two Upcoming AlKandAlC Gigs

For those of you who don’t know, AliK has left the country. So we don’t get to play together so much. Which is sad, as I really like the duo, and it’s one of the few musical projects in which I’ve managed not to annoy everybody involved. (Maybe i do annoy Ali? Who knows. He’s very good at hiding it if I do!). Also, the gigs are part of some events organised by SEAD so it’s all in a good cause.

The first gig is as part of:
The BIG BIG Clothes Swap- O- Rama
21st September, Out Of the Blue Drill Hall, Dalmeny Street, Edinburgh
A big clothes swap, live music and short film screenings – What more could you ask for on a Sunday afternoon?

And the second is part of:
Climate Action Ceilidh: Celebrating 30 years of SEAD
Saturday 1st November, Steiner School, Spylaw Road, Edinburgh
This promises to be a fantastic event featuring the Belle Star Band and lots of special guests, as well as the organic bar and a raffle with exciting prizes.

So, I hope some of you can make it.

In other the news, “the band” has now been named “The Als and the Pussycats” and we should have some copies of the demo EP ready for anybody interested. And hopefully some gigs in the near future. Maybe even a gig outside Edinburgh!

Skuas have been taking a short break, but hopefully getting back to work one evening next week…
